Achieving harmony, inside and out
Moving from the city, the new homeowners wanted a comfortable space with a clean aesthetic for their young family to gather as well as formal spaces to entertain. They expressed their desire to keep the traditional detailing of the home and to have a muted palette with accents of color to create a soothing interior.
Some of our favorite work is to keep the integrity of a classic form of archictecture, yet instilling it with modern functionality. The renovation and expansion of this classic Georgian respected the home's history but was designed to suit the client's contemporary lifestyle. Alisberg Parker also worked on the classic yet modern Interior Design to ensure it met the client's understated, elegant taste.
An addition allowed us to create a fresh and more modern space for cooking and gathering while respecting the Georgian Architecture of the home. Statuary countertops, a white milk glass subway tile backsplash, and white cabinets are a modern yet classic interpretation of the scullery kitchens found in old Georgian homes. The windows, painted in a deep blue, create a dramatic frame of the garden view. The family and living rooms were designed to accentuate the traditional paneling and detailing by having furniture with clean lines, subtle textures, and a serene color palette.
